Every family has one. The person who says "don't get me anything" and means it. Dad. Your father-in-law. The couple whose cottage is already fully stocked.

So you do what everyone does. You grab something on December 23rd, wrap it and hope. By February it's in a drawer.

There's a better option, and it doesn't come off a shelf.

Why a custom fire pit works

Plenty of people with a backyard or cottage would love a fire pit and never get around to buying one. Even fewer have one made to fit their space. That's what makes it a great gift.

  • It's not a duplicate. Nobody else is giving them one built for their yard.
  • It gets used. Summer evenings, fall weekends and cold winter nights.
  • It's personal. Choose the size, shape and design, even a family name or pattern.
  • It's a long-term investment. A cheap fire pit gets replaced. A well-made custom one gets handed down.

Built in Cobourg, picked up in Cobourg

Every Metal Insanity fire pit is made in our Cobourg shop. We don't deliver, so you pick it up from us when it's ready. Bring a vehicle with room for it, and you'll see exactly what you're giving before it's wrapped.

We build for homes and cottages within about 100 km, including Cobourg, Port Hope, Brighton, Colborne, Campbellford, Belleville, Peterborough, Lakefield, Bewdley, Lindsay, Bowmanville, Newcastle, Oshawa, Whitby, Port Perry and the Rice Lake, Stoney Lake and Buckhorn cottage areas.

How to order a custom fire pit

  1. Tell us about the spot. Backyard, patio or cottage, and how many people will sit around it.
  2. Choose the size and shape. Round, square or rectangular, at a height that suits the seating.
  3. Choose the design. Cutout patterns, a family name or a clean, simple look.
  4. Approve the quote. You see the details and price before we cut any metal.
  5. We build it. Made in our Cobourg shop.
  6. You pick it up. We let you know when it's ready.

Order by December 15

Pickup is the only option, so we need time to build it. To have it ready for Christmas, order by December 15.
